This morning I woke up with the realization that I will be 49 years old in exactly 90 days. So... rather than focusing on the big 5.0. around the corner I'm choosing to pivot my thoughts towards my physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Because what better thing is there to focus on at age almost 49 than taking getting healthy seriously? Seriously!
My plan of action (yikes) is going to be something along the lines of the following, with a big-ass (I know, I never swear, but there you go, I just did. People change :)) caveat for myself to change the plan if it becomes tedious or uninspiring. BUT only making changes, absolutely no abandonment of the "getting serious about health" plan. Ok, here we go...
DAILY
Yoga, weights or jog/cardio
Actually cook the food I eat. This might be the most difficult one for me, I notoriously order in or get already prepared food at the grocery store or market.
Duolingo language study. Easy peasy. I'm on fire on day 38 of learning Spanish and French on Duolingo and I just added Indonesian and Portuguese (more about that later!)
Journal - blogging counts :)
Limited to zero alcohol and sugary desserts. Alcohol is easy, dry January has spilled over to February and I intend to keep it going, possibly indefinitely. Sugar, on the other hand, is my absolute cryptonite. I have a HUGE love-hate relationship with sugar. Full honesty, quitting sugar is going to have to start tomorrow, I "accidentally" already indulged today. Darn V-day candy. Ugh!
I think that's it for today!
